It is a new year...YAY!
Now is a time for rejuvenation
and a new you. Everyone has a resolution, what's yours? I hope that this year you
resolve to get back to nature and spend more time outdoors. Simple things can
help you to relax and de-stress in the new year. Take your morning coffee or
tea on the porch, even snuggle up under a blanket when it is cold. Help your
little explorer uncover the world around them. Maybe this is the year that
their known universe gets a little bigger as they explore down the street or
the park in the next neighborhood. The novelty of new places is mesmerizing to children
and it helps them to be more confident adults. As children explore new places
in childhood they are more apt to be successful and confident as adults. One of the scariest
things can be letting your child out of your sight, but at some time, it is
needed for their benefit. Now, I am not suggesting that you encourage your
child to wander away from you and just go AWOL. A child needs to know that it
is OK to explore, but
they need to know how to explore safely. It is part of growing up.So this year, resolve to expand.
Expand the amount of time you spend outdoors, expand the world that you know,
and most importantly expand yourself.
